Connection administration does not grant source-content access. The internal PEEK portal approves methods and ceilings; actual agency connection setup happens here.

Connection lifecycle

  1. 1. Choose an approved source (DC02)

Qualified adapters or governed file intake; read-only by default.

  2. 2. Configure (DC03)

e.g. SAP finance: approved read profile, endpoint ID, opaque secret reference, operations, source owner.

  3. 3. Map facts and permitted use (DC04)

Keys (source + transaction ID + award ref), authoritative fields, date basis, permitted use; SI processing needs separate approval.

  4. 4. Test and validate (DC05)

Bounded synthetic sample; auth, scope, schema, pagination, rate limits and duplicates reported separately. Writes disabled.

  5. 5. Activate (DC06)

Owner approval, test evidence, refresh cadence and an explicit backfill window.

  6. 6. Monitor health (DC07)

Last refresh, coverage, next refresh and known gaps.

  7. 7. Rotate or disable (DC08)

New credential passes bounded validation; disabling stops new ingestion and affected automation.

Heads up — Secrets are never displayed or exported. An unavailable source is not an empty successful query, and disabling a connection does not delete retained evidence or replay missed ingestion.
Tip — ServiceNow sync recovery: reauthorize, retest permissions, then retry — retained evidence stays marked stale meanwhile.
