Resolve a source conflict

When the award document and source metadata disagree, preserve both values and ask the official source owner (CT04).

Example: the award document says the period of performance ends 30 Sep 2027, but source metadata says 31 Oct 2027.

  1. 1

    Open the conflict

From intake or readiness (*Resolve source conflict*).

  2. 2

    Inspect both values

Each with its source and evidence.

  3. 3

    Record resolution request

Creates an evidence-gap task for the owner (e.g. the contracting office) and records the request on the conflict.

  4. 4

    Wait for resolution

The conflict closes only when the official source owner resolves it.

Heads up — Official facts are never overwritten based on preference or a model suggestion. Both values are preserved and the authority used for the resolution is recorded. The external source is never edited.
Note — An open conflict is one of the mandatory readiness checks — managed work cannot start until it is resolved.
